CAN THIS CHARACTER BE CANON PUNCTURED? Yes
WHAT ARE YOUR INTENTIONS WITH THIS CHARACTER IN GAME? Yuffie needs friends -Yuffie makes friends out of single interactions so that won't be hard. Primarily, she needs friends who will be a good influence, to help her get her life in order and not just horse around and do stupid stuff. She'll be working on her confidence and her ability to take care of herself properly. Since you know, she's immature AF.
IN GAME HISTORY: Yuffie Kisaragi is the only daughter of Godo Kisaragi, a moderately over-weight, past his prime carnival specialist. Godo runs around half a dozen carnivals and amusement parks across the west coast, much to Yuffie's disgust. Mostly left to her own devices, moving from one attraction to the next as Godo oversaw the developments or repairs to certain parks, Yuffie spent a lot of her time around carnival folk, learning tricks of the trade and the illusions they tended to deal in.
When Yuffie was seven they spent two years at one location while Godo romanced one of the mystics and they set up at the new location. Yuffie took this time to befriend the high wire workers, spending time learning the tight rope before moving on to the trapeze work. Enjoying the time in the air Yuffie became a skilled gymnast with a keen ability for acrobatics. However, when Godo's relationship with the mystic broke down, he and Yuffie were off again, moving to the next place with Godo's new brilliant ideas.
Yuffie quickly started to miss the carnival in Anaheim, having made friends and her own little family there, people who she felt were so much more interested in her than Godo ever would be. Yuffie started rebelling, using what she learned at the parks and with the carnie folk to work on what she thought would get her out of there. Stealing.
Being fairly small for her age, Yuffie was nimble and quick, able to slip among people and snag wallets and purses with ease. She had exceptionally sticky fingers and gradually worked her way up from dipping pockets to slipping off watches and bracelets, able to sell or trade them to some of the less ethical of carnival workers. By the time Yuffie was fifteen, she was stealing more for the fun of it than anything else.
When Godo started talking about branching out to the east coast, Yuffie knew she was running out of time. Saving as much as she could, she ran away the following year, months away from turning seventeen and with nothing but the clothes in her bag, Yuffie ran all the way back to Anaheim, only to find that in the time since she'd last been there the park had changed so completely no one she knew was working there anymore. Devastated, Yuffie stayed for just a short time, letting a few of the newer people teach her a few more tricks -juggling, throwing knives and some gymnastic stunt fighting. But Yuffie didn't stay long, heading off again before her father came looking for her.
Sticking to stealing, Yuffie spent her time in and out of large cities, thieving her way through malls and fairs and large gatherings. She got kicked out of Disneyland twice but no one could prove she stole anything -Yuffie was good at hiding things. Her kleptomania got really bad, to the point where Yuffie started stealing from stores as well as random people. Even accumulating stuff, Yuffie didn't really have anywhere to go, sleeping in streets or sneaking into empty motel rooms where she could.
It all changed when she was eighteen and make the best mistake to date, stealing from Tifa Lockhart. It'd been a routine lift, and Yuffie would've gotten away clean, except Tifa caught her and Yuffie was so sure she'd get turned in, that Godo would be called, that she'd be screwed. But for some reason, Tifa took pity on her, didn't report her, didn't even really yell at her. Tifa actually asked her why she needed the money, and when waif little Yuffie answered in her smallest, saddest, most pathetic voice possible that it was for food, Tifa took her to get something to eat.
Being that Yuffie didn't have many friends, or any really, Tifa was probably overwhelmed with just how much Yuffie talked during their lunch, everything spilling out of the girls mouth in one swift swoop! Yuffie latched on, the first person to show her the slightest bit of interest since she left Anaheim was the best thing to happen, and Tifa's nurturing nature edging Yuffie towards a more legitimate course to take than thieving her life away. Under Tifa's encouragement, Yuffie called her father, telling him she wasn't coming home, but she wanted to go to college. She was enrolled in UC Irvine shortly afterwards, Godo mostly just glad she wasn't dead. Yuffie promised to stay in touch better, Godo promised to pay for her school and help her get set up on her own.
Tifa promised to help her settle.
Yuffie studies mechanical engineering at college, taking a three year course and thriving better in an environment where she got attention. She got a small apartment neat Tifa's loft and promised to help Tifa where she could -since she wasn't old enough to actually work at the bar.
Hey hey hey! Summer time! I am not gonna miss constant study, study, study! Blerg, who wants to live in a library?
Not that I did that. Why would I do that? That doesn't make sense. Indoors is bad! No indoors!
We can still beach party right? No littering though, can't pollute the ocean, that's a no-go poo-poo.
